The city announced that the ‘Goyang Digital Video Campus’ project was selected as an exemplary case and received the Minister of Education Award in the operational evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education in February this year, targeting 56 pilot areas of educational development special zones.
This result demonstrates that Goyang City's region-tailored educational support policies and future talent cultivation programs have achieved tangible outcomes.
The ‘Goyang Digital Video Campus’ is Goyang City's unique educational system that fosters future core talents in digital media and video content fields based on entrepreneurship education.
Centered on five vocational high schools in the district and the Entrepreneurship Campuses (Campuses 1 to 6) of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Media Education Center, it is an educational system of industry-academia-research collaboration created together by schools, universities, and companies.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang City expressed, “The selection of this exemplary case in the pilot areas of the educational development special zone was possible thanks to the active cooperation of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, Goyang Education Support Office, four local universities, Goyang Industry Promotion Agency, EBS, and officials from local elementary, middle, and high schools.”
He added, “We will spare no effort to support outstanding talents in Goyang so that they can learn, find employment, and settle in the region,” and “We will do our best to grow into a sustainable future-oriented educational city.”
Meanwhile, the educational development special zone is a public project promoted by the Ministry of Education to revitalize regions through the power of education, and Goyang City was selected in February last year.
