Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Lee Namil) announced that on the 19th, Vice Minister Lee Heewan of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs visited the Medical Support Unit Participation Memorial in Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo-gu, Busan to pay tribute and inspect the facilities.

The Medical Support Unit Participation Memorial was built in 1976 to commemorate the noble spirit of six countries?Denmark, India, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and Germany?that provided medical treatment to UN and Korean troops and aided refugees during the Korean War.
Vice Minister Lee Heewan stated, "It was thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of the medical support units that many lives were saved," and added, "We will continue to pursue veterans policies to ensure that the sacrifices made for the nation are not forgotten." He also expressed his gratitude to the Busan Tourism Organization and Busan Facilities Corporation, who participated in the tribute.
