Security for Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, who also serves as Minister of Economy and Finance, will be strengthened. This is analyzed as a response to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea's, 'be careful' remark.

A senior official from the Presidential Office stated on the 19th through a press release, "We understand that the security level for Acting President Choi Sang-mok will be raised to enhance protection."

At the Democratic Party's Supreme Council meeting held in Gwanghwamun the previous day, Lee said regarding Acting President Choi's refusal to appoint Ma Eun-hyuk as a Constitutional Court judge candidate, "Even the president can be punished if they destroy the constitutional order while in office. Any citizen can arrest Acting President Choi Sang-mok as a criminal caught in the act," adding, "I hope he stays careful."

In response, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized, "This is clearly illegal incitement to terrorism, urging his supporters to commit acts of terror."

Meanwhile, opposition parties are increasing pressure on Acting President Choi, with Lee Jae-myung's 'be careful' remarks among other actions. However, internal turmoil continues as fierce debates over whether to pursue impeachment against Acting President Choi took place during a late-night party meeting the previous day.
