Oh Se-hoon: "Regarding Yoon's impeachment trial, politicians should accept the outcome without agitation"

Mayor Oh Urges Political Leaders to Refrain from Emotional Responses
Calls for Acceptance of Impeachment Trial Outcome and Public Maturity

On the 19th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon emphasized that "(the political sphere) must accept whatever the outcome is" amid concerns that national opinion could be divided following the ruling on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial.

During a special lecture invited by the National Council of Student Councils held at Soongsil University that afternoon, Mayor Oh said, "I hope the political sphere does not incite the public emotionally or play a role that intensifies conflicts." He also added, "In the end, we can only appeal to the public's maturity and self-restraint."

At the lecture, Mayor Oh spoke about plans to revitalize the stock market, stating, "My goal is to change the system so that the Korean stock market becomes a high-yield market like the U.S. stock market."

He said, "Have people systematically studied stock or coin investments? Probably not. Most likely, they started because a close friend said they made some money, but if you start that way, you usually fail." He continued, "When I was a lawyer, I invested a large sum in stocks and lost it all, which taught me a valuable lesson that you need to study."

Mayor Oh added, "Since I am prohibited from investing in individual domestic stocks and real estate anyway, I reluctantly became a Seohak Ant (Korean investors in U.S. stocks). I don't have time to invest in individual stocks, and a significant portion of my portfolio is in U.S. ETFs. I will do my best to make the Korean stock market thrive and increase its value."
