"Maintaining Cooperation to Prevent Casualties"
Emergency Countermeasure Meeting of 12 Agency Heads Including Police, Fire, and Medical Services
On the 19th, ahead of the impeachment trial verdict for President Yoon Suk-yeol, the heads of 12 related organizations including Jongno-gu Office, police, fire department, and medical services gathered to hold an emergency countermeasure meeting to discuss safety accident prevention measures in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Jung Moon-heon, head of Jongno-gu Office, held an 'Emergency Countermeasure Meeting in Preparation for the Constitutional Court Verdict' at the annex of the district office building at 5 p.m. that day, stating, “We will deploy district employees to establish a response system including safety management for large-scale rallies and operation of on-site clinics,” and added, “We will pool the expertise and capabilities of each institution to fully protect the safety of the public.”
Jung said, “There were casualties during the previous impeachment,” and added, “To prevent such incidents, Jongno-gu will operate a comprehensive safety management situation room for three days before and after the verdict day and thoroughly prepare citizen safety measures in areas such as crowd control, emergency relief, and road maintenance.”
He also stated, “We plan to deploy about 300 employees for emergency duty mainly around crowded exits and assign 500 main office staff to safety management and task force operations.”
Jongno-gu has organized seven teams: the General Situation Team, Administrative Support Team, Facility Management Team, Road Maintenance Team, Civil Complaints Response Team, Emergency Relief Team, and Crowd Control Team. To establish an emergency medical system, an on-site clinic was set up in the parking lot of the Cheondogyo Suun Hall. The Medical Support Team treats minor injuries, and the Rapid Response Team works with the disaster medical support team to respond in case of casualties.
Illegal parking enforcement and closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring will also be strengthened around the Constitutional Court, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Anguk Station.
The meeting was organized to share the roles and measures of major institutions for preventing safety accidents and to establish a thorough cooperation system. Attendees included Jung Moon-heon, head of Jongno-gu Office; Ra Do-gyun, chairman of the Jongno District Council; Gong Kyung-hyun, chief of Jongno Police Station; Ham Kyung-chul, chief of Hyehwa Police Station; Park Jung-shin, deputy director of Seoul National University Hospital; and heads of 12 organizations including Jongno Tax Office, Jongno Fire Station, Jungbu Office of Education, Korea Electric Power Corporation Seoul Headquarters, 219th Brigade 1st Battalion, KT Gwanghwamun Branch, Seoul Metro Gwanghwamun Sales Office, and Jonggak Station.
