on March 19-20
Guro-gu supports the Guro-gu Office workplace sports wrestling team participating in the 43rd Chairman's National Wrestling Tournament held over two days on March 19 and 20 in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do.
This first tournament of the year features athletes Choi Min-woo, Choi Mi-reu, Kang Dae-gyu, and Jung Yong-seok.
Among them, Choi Min-woo and Choi Mi-reu joined the team in January this year, making this tournament their first appearance representing Guro-gu Office. It holds great significance as their first competition since joining the professional team.
Accordingly, the district formed a cheering squad composed of employees who visited the venue on the morning of the 19th to show their support in person.
This cheering effort aims to demonstrate the district’s affection, interest, and enthusiasm for the Guro-gu Office athletes.
Since establishing the wrestling team in 2003, the district has continuously operated and supported the team to help the athletes perform at their best. In October last year, a badminton team was also founded and is currently active.
A Guro-gu official stated, “The Guro-gu Office workplace sports wrestling team, with its long history and excellent skills, is a pride of the district,” and added, “As the athletes’ matches can be watched live on the Korea Wrestling Federation’s YouTube channel, we ask for your great interest and support.”
