Lawmakers from the People Power Party did not participate in the vote, protesting the handling of the permanent special prosecutor investigation requests.
The 'Kim Keon-hee Permanent Special Prosecutor Request' targets investigations into allegations including ▲ stock manipulation involving Deutsche Motors and Sambu Construction ▲ bribery-like sponsorship related to Covana Contents ▲ receipt of luxury bags ▲ interference in the route change of the Yangpyeong Expressway.
The 'Drug Investigation Interference Allegation Permanent Special Prosecutor Request' targets the investigation of allegations that customs officials were involved during the police investigation into Malaysian drug syndicate members smuggling methamphetamine through Incheon Airport in January 2023.
The opposition party plans to process the two permanent special prosecutor requests at the National Assembly plenary session on the 20th.
