Oh Sehyun, the Democratic Party candidate running in the upcoming by-election for mayor of Asan, Chungnam on the 2nd of next month, pledged in a press release on the 19th, "I will expand the issuance of the local currency, Asan Pay, to 500 billion KRW."

According to the city, last year’s issuance of Asan Pay amounted to 250 billion KRW, and this year’s target is set at around 200 billion KRW.

Oh also promised to raise the purchase limit, taking into account that Asan Pay was sold out immediately upon issuance, making it difficult to reach the holding limit.

He stated that the purchase limit would be increased from the current 500,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW, while the holding limit would remain at 1,000,000 KRW.

In addition, Oh presented several economic pledges for restoring livelihoods, including: ▲ the swift launch of the Emergency Livelihood Economy Special Committee ▲ support for low-interest loans for small business owners ▲ early execution of the main budget.

Oh appealed, “I will normalize the local economy and municipal administration, which have been ruined by internal strife and the previous mayor’s unilateral decisions,” and added, “Please support Oh Sehyun, the only candidate who can start working immediately without any need for practice or adaptation the day after the election.”

Meanwhile, Oh’s campaign office announced plans to sequentially release pledges by sector and region through press releases and other channels.
