"Responded Calmly Thanks to CPR Training"
Jin Air employees at Incheon Airport saved a foreign passenger in a critical condition through prompt emergency treatment.
According to Jin Air on the 19th, an emergency situation occurred around 5 p.m. on the 14th at Incheon Airport Terminal 2, where a man in his 30s of Thai nationality, scheduled to board a Jin Air flight to Bangkok, lost consciousness and collapsed due to a seizure.
Jin Air staff and Air Korea employees from partner companies nearby checked the passenger’s condition. The passenger was breathing heavily while collapsed but soon lost consciousness. The employees immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) together with other passengers until the 119 emergency medical team arrived. Fortunately, the passenger regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital with the help of the emergency team that arrived a few minutes later. The flight operated normally after necessary measures such as unloading the passenger’s luggage were taken.
Hwang Arin, an employee at Jin Air’s Incheon Airport branch, and Lee Sangmin, an Air Korea employee, who saved the passenger through quick action, said, “We were startled when we saw the collapsed passenger, but thanks to the regular CPR training conducted by the company, we were able to respond calmly. We are truly relieved that the passenger safely regained consciousness, and we sincerely thank the other passengers who helped us alongside.”
A Jin Air official stated, “We are proud of the employees who calmly saved the passenger even in an urgent situation,” and added, “We will continue training to respond to emergency situations in the future.”
