Since 2020, the Ulsan Office of Education has been providing English learning opportunities to students from underprivileged backgrounds through agreements with local children's centers under the jurisdiction of local governments. This year, a total of 33 institutions are participating in the project, including 31 local children's centers, one group home, and one other institution.

For this project, the 'Dadeurim Dedicated Team,' consisting of 18 current teachers with English expertise, will be matched one-on-one with each institution to support 'Dadeut English+' classes.

To help students naturally acquire English in real-life situations, step-by-step and theme-based English listening, speaking, reading, and writing content and teaching aids are utilized. Three types of textbooks independently developed by the Ulsan Office of Education ('Listen Up+', 'Alphabet Writing Workbook', and 'Alphabet Sound Workbook') are also provided.

Starting in March, the dedicated team will visit each institution once a month to conduct four-stage classes?'Opening Up', 'Activity Together', 'Communicating', and 'Practicing Expression'?so that students can develop interest and confidence in English.

In particular, during the 'Activity Together' stage, classes are conducted using various methods such as 'listening + writing (speaking) focused', 'reading + writing (speaking)', and utilizing textbooks developed by the Ulsan Office of Education.

Recently, the Ulsan Office of Education held a preliminary briefing session attended by all 18 dedicated team teachers to share the team's roles and methods of class support. Participants exchanged a variety of opinions on ways for underprivileged students to consistently experience English and apply it in real life.

On the 19th, a non-face-to-face briefing session was also held for 36 staff members from the participating institutions to provide guidance on how to utilize Dadeut English+ for underprivileged students.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "We will strengthen our support so that all students can have equal opportunities for English learning through 'Dadeut English+'," and added, "We will continue to support students so that they can naturally encounter English and develop their communication skills."
