Apply via the Safe Jeonse Portal by April 7
Live for up to 8 years at 90% of market rent
The Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) announced on the 19th that it will begin recruiting tenants for the 6th round of the 'Dundeun Jeonse Housing' starting from the 26th.
This recruitment will cover a total of 500 households, an increase from last year. Applicants will be recruited for housing located in metropolitan urban areas such as Seoul, Incheon, and Bucheon in Gyeonggi Province.
Since July last year, HUG has conducted five rounds of tenant recruitment for a total of 450 households. During this process, approximately 71,000 people applied, resulting in a high competition rate averaging 158 to 1.
'Dundeun Jeonse Housing' is a project where HUG purchases homes after repaying the Jeonse deposit on behalf of tenants and supplies them as public rental housing. Any household member without a home can apply regardless of age, income, or assets. Since HUG is the landlord, tenants are assured of getting their Jeonse deposit back, ensuring high safety. Additionally, tenants can live for up to 8 years at about 90% of the surrounding market rent, providing favorable conditions for actual residents.
Applications for tenancy can be submitted online through the 'HUG Safe Jeonse Portal' from the 26th until April 7th. HUG will review eligibility criteria such as non-homeownership and announce the final winners on June 18th. The recruitment announcement can be found on the HUG Safe Jeonse Portal and the official blog.
Yoo Byung-tae, President of HUG, stated, "We will continue to supply Dundeun Jeonse Housing without interruption so that young people and low-income households without homes can prepare for their future in a stable living environment," and added, "We ask for your great interest in this recruitment as well."
