Governor Kim Dong-yeon attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bongseonsa Meditation Experience Center of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism held at Bongseonsa Temple in Namyangju on the 18th and said, "The hearts of the people are deeply wounded, national conflicts are intensifying, and the country is being split into two," adding, "Many politicians say they are working for the country and the people, but I wonder if they are actually biased toward their own vested interests or lust for power."

He continued, "Amid competition, conflict, and confrontation, I have come to think about Seon meditation, which emphasizes restraint, mutual respect, peace of mind, and spiritual values that transcend desire and materialism," and said, "I am truly happy and congratulate everyone on holding the groundbreaking ceremony for this Seon Meditation Experience Center here at Bongseonsa today."
In particular, he added, "When I visited the Chief Abbot last November, I brought a book he had written, and he inscribed the phrase 'Manbeop Yusik' (all phenomena are manifestations of the mind) inside the book," and said, "I understand that all phenomena are functions of the mind, and reflecting on those words, I have been thinking about what kind of mindset I should have for the people of Gyeonggi Province or as a politician."
