Experience Attaching Ribbon Markers
on Old Mountain Trails
'OreuGO Hamyang,' a certification project for completing all 15 famous mountains in Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, has surpassed 8,000 app participants as it prepares to welcome spring tourists in earnest, establishing itself as a representative tourism content of Hamyang.
In response, Hamyang-gun is holding a trail guide selection event to promote the charm of old mountain paths and the breathtaking scenery of its famous mountains, encourage safe hiking, and boost participation among hikers.
This event was inspired by feedback from mountaineers nationwide, who shared that the yellow "OreuGO Hamyang" marker ribbons helped guide them to hidden scenic spots on the mountains. In this hands-on event, "OreuGO Hamyang" participants will take on the role of trail guides by personally attaching hiking marker ribbons along the trails.
Applications to participate can be submitted via the dedicated "OreuGO Hamyang" phone text service from the 18th to the 19th. Selected teams, chosen by lottery, will install hiking ribbons in designated sections across five mountains and nine trails. Each participant will receive 50,000 points on the "OreuGO Hamyang" app.
An official from Hamyang-gun stated, "By allowing participants to become trail guides and attach marker ribbons along the original mountain paths, we hope to enhance engagement with 'OreuGO Hamyang,' promote safe hiking through the installation of trail markers, and increase publicity for the project. We encourage many 'OreuGO Hamyang' participants to apply."
