Average Employee Salary Reaches 161 Million KRW

Data Center and Cloud Businesses Grow by Over 30%
Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, received a total compensation of 3.083 billion KRW in 2024. This amount represents a 49.29% increase compared to 2.065 billion KRW in 2023.
According to the business report disclosed by SKT on the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 17th, CEO Yoo received a total of 3.083 billion KRW in 2024, consisting of a salary of 1.4 billion KRW, bonuses of 1.64 billion KRW, stock option exercise gains of 17 million KRW, and other earned income of 26 million KRW.
The base salary was set at 1.4 billion KRW annually, considering his role as CEO, leadership, expertise, company contribution, and business performance, and was paid monthly at 116.7 million KRW.
The performance bonus was calculated based on the 2023 business results. In 2023, SKT achieved consolidated sales of 17.6 trillion KRW (a 1.8% increase from the previous year) and consolidated operating profit of 1.75 trillion KRW (an 8.8% increase from the previous year), driven by stable telecommunications business results through synergy with SK Broadband and growth in the B2B enterprise sector. Additionally, in the artificial intelligence (AI) business field, SKT officially launched the AI voice assistant 'Aidot' with 300% growth, advanced telecom-specialized large language models (LLM), surpassed 15.5 million 5G subscribers, and achieved 30.0% and 36.6% growth in data center and cloud businesses, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kang Jong-ryeol, former executive director of SKT, received a total compensation of 5.194 billion KRW last year. This included a salary of 700 million KRW, bonuses of 754 million KRW, other earned income of 13 million KRW, and retirement income of 3.727 billion KRW, totaling approximately 5.2 billion KRW.
Last year, the average salary per SKT employee was 161 million KRW, a slight increase compared to 152 million KRW in 2023. By gender, the average salary per male employee (4,227 employees), including both permanent and fixed-term workers, was 175 million KRW, while the average salary per female employee (1,266 employees) was 117 million KRW.
