Over the next five years, the Yeoju Dure PD will discover local tourism resident communities, support their startup and operation as tourism businesses, and through this agreement, both organizations will cooperate to ensure the successful establishment of resident-led tourism businesses in Yeoju by supporting Tourism Dure PD activities and capacity building, discovering and fostering resident businesses, and promoting marketing support for resident businesses and local tourism content.
Through this agreement, Yeoju City expects to develop and operate various tourism and travel products utilizing the region's unique culture and resources, thereby revitalizing the local economy by attracting tourists.
Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju City stated, "The agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization will be an important opportunity to expand Yeoju's tourism infrastructure and grow as a sustainable tourism city," adding, "We will actively support the successful establishment of tourism businesses directly involving local residents through the Yeoju Tourism Dure PD."
