A police official said at a regular press briefing that day, "There have been reports in the media, so we are currently strengthening intelligence gathering activities," and "A request for personal protection has been received, and we are in consultation with the party."

Earlier, on the 12th, the Democratic Party said that multiple lawmakers, including the leadership, received text messages stating that there was a plan to smuggle Russian-made pistols to assassinate Leader Lee.
