Targeting Diesel Vehicles and Construction Equipment... 220 Million KRW Invested
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province will implement the '2025 Vehicle Emissions Reduction Project' starting from the 17th.
According to the county, this project has been launched to reduce air pollutants such as fine dust and nitrogen oxides, with a total project budget of 220 million KRW.
The project plans to support a total of 14 vehicles, including: ▲ installation of emission reduction devices on 4 vehicles ▲ engine replacement support for 8 construction machines ▲ electrification retrofit for 2 construction machines (forklifts).
Eligible recipients are diesel vehicles with emission grade 5 and construction equipment registered in Jangsu County as of the announcement date, as well as construction machines (forklifts, excavators, loaders, rollers) equipped with engines subject to pre-2004 emission regulation standards (Tier-1 or lower). In addition, forklifts and excavators manufactured before 2005 with engine output of 75kW or more but less than 130kW, and those manufactured before 2006 with engine output less than 75kW, are also eligible for support.
If selected for the project, about 90% of the cost for installing emission reduction devices on old diesel vehicles will be subsidized, and the full cost will be covered for construction machine engine replacements and electrification retrofits. However, if the owner who received the subsidy scraps or deregisters the vehicle within the mandatory two-year operation period, the subsidy may be reclaimed. After the mandatory operation period, the installed device must be returned if the vehicle is scrapped or deregistered.
Those wishing to apply can visit the Environmental Division of the county office by the 4th of next month. For more details, contact the Environmental Division or refer to the notices section on the county office website.
