Muan County Council Issues Statement Urging Immediate Dismissal of Yoon

"Constitutional Court Must Respond to the People's Mandate"

The Muan County Council in Jeonnam (Chairman Lee Hosung) issued an emergency statement on the 17th, urging the immediate dismissal of President Yoon Sukyeol.

On this day, the council members pointed out in their statement, "It has already been over 100 days since martial law was declared on December 3, 2024, but Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, has not been brought to justice. Instead, on the 7th, he was suddenly released under the protection of state agencies."

They continued, "Although martial law has been lifted, even at this moment Yoon Sukyeol and his accomplices are inciting extreme riots, causing social division and chaos, and the constitutional order continues to collapse."

In particular, they emphasized, "Only the Constitutional Court's immediate decision to dismiss him can swiftly end all this social and economic turmoil and restore the daily lives of the people. It is the only way to show that our democratic constitutional order can be restored," urging the Constitutional Court to make a prompt decision on dismissal.

Chairman Lee Hosung stated, "The Republic of Korea is now at a crossroads where the constitutional order is being trampled and the fate of the nation is at stake," expressing a strong desire for the Constitutional Court to grant the impeachment and promptly dismiss Yoon Sukyeol in response to the people's mandate."
