Gangseo-gu Opens 'Village Management Office' in Gonghang-dong

Waste Disposal, Home Repair Consultations, and More
"A Role Beyond That of Apartment Management Offices"

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will open a 'Village Management Office' in Gonghang-dong (Songjeong-ro 6-gil 13) on the 19th. The Village Management Office plays a role in providing customized living services similar to apartment management offices in areas densely populated with single-family and multi-family houses.

The Gonghang-dong Village Management Office, opening this time, is a three-story building with a total floor area of 218.84㎡. On the first floor, a resource circulation station is set up to support services such as separate collection of recyclables, collection and drying treatment of food waste.


The second floor houses a Smart Health Living Support Center. Customized exercise equipment, including rehabilitation exercise machines such as a long pull machine for strengthening back and arm muscles, an updominal machine for abdominal exercises, and a bicycle for lower body strength enhancement, are provided, along with health management consultations. Additionally, a resting area is available for relaxation and community communication among residents.


The third floor is where the Village Management Office supporting low-rise housing management is located. Services such as home repair consultations and education, as well as tool rentals, are provided here.


The office is staffed by two health and housing management experts, two village management managers, and one facility operations manager. In particular, the housing management experts will support discovering housing management projects, developing resident participation programs, and training village management specialists to help ensure village operations tailored to local characteristics based on resident participation.


The Village Management Office operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Starting with the operation of the Gonghang-dong Village Management Office, the district plans to gradually expand village management services to alleviate inconveniences for residents of row houses and multi-family housing.


District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, "I am very pleased that the Gonghang-dong Village Management Office is opening amid many inconveniences experienced by residents in low-rise residential areas," and added, "I hope it will play a role beyond that of apartment management offices by resolving residents' inconveniences and operating the village in accordance with local characteristics."
