Aged Apartment Reborn After 43 Years:
Up to 29 Floors and 490 Households Planned

Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has approved the project implementation plan for the reconstruction and redevelopment of Miseong Apartment in the 1656 area of Jowon-dong.
Miseong Apartment, completed in 1982, has been severely deteriorated after 43 years since its completion. Following a safety inspection rating of D in 2009, a redevelopment plan was established and the redevelopment zone was designated in 2010, marking the official start of the reconstruction project.
The project was stalled for about 10 years during the promotion committee stage due to reasons such as lack of profitability.
Through continuous efforts by residents and support from the district office, the project got back on track by establishing a union and trust agency in 2020 and seeking to improve profitability by increasing the number of households through a redevelopment plan amendment in 2022. Subsequently, the district approved the project implementation plan submitted by the Sillim-dong Miseong Apartment Reconstruction and Redevelopment Association and announced it on the 6th.
The existing Miseong Apartment, consisting of three buildings with 280 households, will be transformed into a new apartment complex with six buildings, 490 households (including 53 rental units), and various auxiliary and welfare facilities, with a maximum height of 29 floors under this project implementation plan.
Additionally, as a public contribution, a small park will be created within the complex to provide a nearby healing space for local residents.
In particular, the complex is located a 7-minute walk from Guro Digital Complex Station (Line 2) and adjacent to Siheung-daero, making public transportation very convenient. There is also the Byeolbitnaerincheon walking trail nearby, allowing easy access for residents, among various geographical and environmental advantages.
The district expects that upon completion of this redevelopment project, high-quality housing will be supplied to residents, improving the residential environment and ensuring residents’ safety, as well as enhancing the surrounding living environment.
