Saenodu Criticizes the Reappointment of Outside Directors
KT will reappoint all four outside directors whose terms expire at the end of this month. At the shareholders' meeting to be held on the 31st, KT will approve the reappointment of the current outside directors: Kim Yong-heon, lawyer at the law firm Dae-ryuk Aju; Kwak Woo-young, head of Hyundai Motor Company's Vehicle IT Development Center; Lee Seung-hoon, operating committee member of Korea Investment Corporation; and Kim Sung-chul, professor in the Department of Media at Korea University.

KT Saenodu, a minority labor union, criticized the reappointment of outside directors, stating, "At a time when only one year remains in their term, CEO Kim is trying to sell KT's real estate assets, especially profitable hotels, but the board of directors is not exercising checks and balances." They condemned the pursuit of short-term profits from the sale as a performance move aimed at CEO Kim Young-seop's reappointment in a statement.
KT responded by saying that the Nomination Committee for Directors formed a pool of candidates through various channels to secure outside directors with expertise and reviewed them through a fair process, asserting that this decision is to ensure a stable management environment.
