Choi Hogwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Attends Arbor Day Tree Planting Event with Residents

Choi Ho-gwon, the mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the '80th Arbor Day Tree Planting Event' held on the afternoon of March 14 at Eoulsup Neighborhood Park.

Before the main tree planting, a 'My Tree Ownership' event took place. Residents shared their special stories while planting trees and attaching commemorative plaques containing their wishes. Following this, Mayor Choi Ho-gwon, along with about 300 local residents, planted a total of 5,000 seedlings including king cherry trees, cornelian cherries, and arrowwoods.

This Arbor Day event will be held in two sessions. On March 20, tree planting and companion plant sharing events will continue at Anyangcheon, Jungmaru Neighborhood Park, and Wonji Children's Park.

Choi Ho-gwon, mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, "I hope the flowers and trees we planted today with the residents become healing spaces within the city," and added, "We will continue to do our best to make Yeongdeungpo a beautiful neighborhood through various garden culture programs."
