Jangheung County Recruiting Participants for Resident Participatory Budget School

Customized Capacity-Building Education for Youth, Teenagers, and Women

Jangheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 14th that it is recruiting participants for the Resident Participatory Budget School to inform local residents about the resident participatory budgeting system and support them in preparing project proposals.

The Resident Participatory Budget School is a capacity-building program for residents being implemented for the first time this year, aiming to provide customized education for different groups such as youth, teenagers (middle school students), and women.

The county plans to invite professional instructors to deliver education tailored to residents, covering theoretical education on the resident participatory budgeting system, introducing outstanding cases from other cities and counties, and teaching how to write project proposals.

The Resident Participatory Budget School will be held over three days from the 27th to the 29th, with each session limited to 20 participants. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and applicants can submit the application form posted on the Jangheung County Office website via email.

Governor Kim Sung stated, "This training will provide an opportunity for residents to realize the projects they desire," and added, "We look forward to active interest and participation so that a variety of projects can be discovered."

Meanwhile, Jangheung County is currently holding a public contest for project proposals totaling 2 billion KRW for the 2026 resident participatory budget. Anyone residing in or having a living base in the area is eligible to apply.
