Average Price of Kimchi Jjigae Set Meal in Seoul Reaches 8,500 Won
Naengmyeon, Samgyetang, and Bibimbap Prices Also Rise
Gimbap, Jajangmyeon, and Kalguksu Prices Remain Unchanged
Samgyeopsal Price Slightly Decreases

Amid the continued rise in dining-out prices this year, the average price of a single serving of kimchi jjigae set meal in Seoul has reached 8,500 won.

According to the Korea Consumer Agency's comprehensive price information portal 'Chamgagyeok' on the 14th, the price of kimchi jjigae set meal, one of the eight popular dining-out menu items in Seoul, increased by 231 won from 8,269 won in January to 8,500 won last month.


The price of kimchi jjigae set meal first rose to the 7,000 won range in September 2021, then reached 8,000 won in December 2023, and last month it hit around 8,500 won.


The price of a bowl of naengmyeon increased from 12,038 won in January to 12,115 won last month. During the same period, samgyetang rose from 17,269 won to 17,346 won, and bibimbap went up from 11,231 won to 11,308 won.


The prices of three items?gimbap, jajangmyeon, and kalguksu?remained unchanged last month after rising in January. Gimbap is 3,538 won, jajangmyeon is 7,500 won, and kalguksu is 9,462 won. The price of one serving (200g) of samgyeopsal decreased by 6 won from 20,282 won in January to 20,276 won last month.
