Seocho-gu Achieves Record High Donation Amount for 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign'

A Record 2.1 Billion KRW Raised in Donations and Goods Over Three Months

Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 14th that the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign,’ conducted from last November to February this year, has concluded with the highest donation amount ever achieved.

Organized by the Seoul Community Chest of Korea and supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ is an annual winter neighbor-helping project led by the district to support vulnerable neighbors in the community and to promote a culture of sharing through public-private cooperation.

From November 15 to February 14 this year, the total amount raised in the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ reached approximately 2.1 billion KRW in cash equivalent. This amount includes about 1.4 billion KRW in cash donations and about 700 million KRW in the value of donated goods, reflecting the combined efforts of various companies, organizations, and individual donors.

Despite the challenging economic conditions, the donation amount reached a record high, demonstrating the warm interest of donors toward neighbors in need.

KCC Corporation and the Yongsan Sanghuiwon Social Welfare Foundation each donated 100 million KRW to support local social welfare institutions and low-income residents. Silon Co., Ltd., which formed a new partnership with the district through this campaign, also pledged continuous interest by donating 50 million KRW.

Additionally, Medica Korea Co., Ltd. expressed their concern for neighbors in need through in-kind donations. Other valuable goods collected through the cooperation of the local community and residents were immediately distributed to low-income residents, and the cash donations will be used for living expenses, medical costs, and housing expenses for low-income residents.

District Mayor Jeon Seong-su stated, "The donated funds and goods will be used appropriately to support vulnerable neighbors in the community."
