Park Jie-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Haenam, Wando, and Jindo in South Jeolla Province), strongly urged the Constitutional Court to issue a ruling to remove President Yoon Suk-yeol from office by the 14th.
On the 13th, Park stated on his Facebook page, "It has been 101 days under martial law... The only way to save this failing country, this torn Republic of Korea, is the Constitutional Court," adding, "The Constitutional Court must issue a ruling to remove President Yoon Suk-yeol from office by the 14th to protect the Constitution and prevent national chaos."
He also said, "Although it is extremely regrettable that the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed the cases against the Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection and the three prosecutors, we must respect the Court's final decision," and cautiously added, "However, I believe the Constitutional Court is taking steps toward the removal of President Yoon Suk-yeol, similar to the 8-0 ruling in the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye."
He argued, "The ruling to cancel Yoon Suk-yeol's detention was made because Yoon's defense team argued for a calculation based on hours rather than dates, so Judge Ji Guyoun intended for the higher court to review the decision."
Regarding the ruling to cancel President Yoon's detention, Park interpreted, "Because Yoon Suk-yeol's defense team argued for a calculation based on hours rather than dates, Judge Ji Guyoun made the ruling with the intention that the higher court should review the decision."
He then emphasized, regarding Prosecutor General Sim Woo-jung's decision not to file an immediate appeal and to order Yoon's release, "This is a clear abuse of authority," and added, "Supreme Court Administration Chief Cheon Dae-yeob's response at the Legislation and Judiciary Committee merely reiterated what was emphasized in the first-instance ruling: 'Let the higher court make the decision.'"
Finally, Park insisted, "Prosecutor General Sim Woo-jung must file an immediate appeal within the deadline by tomorrow, the 14th," urging the prosecution to respond actively.
