Rally Held in Front of Gangseo-gu Headquarters on the 13th
Union Demands Employment Stability and Compensation After Share Sale
Criticism Over Lack of Unified Labor Response

The Ourhome labor union urged the company to take measures, stating that the major shareholder did not consider the employment stability and treatment of workers during the process of selling shares to Hanwha.

The National Chemical Workers' Union Federation's Ourhome labor union held a rally in front of the headquarters in Gangseo-gu on the 13th, stating, "The sacrifices and hard work of the workers were completely ignored as the sale was pushed forward," and "The major shareholder decided to sell to maximize their own profits, but did not provide even minimal compensation to the workers who have protected the company for decades."

National Ourhome Union: "Major Shareholders Ignore Workers... Employment Stability and Treatment Must Be Guaranteed" On the 13th, representatives of the National Ourhome Labor Union and the Chemical Federation held a protest rally condemning the sale of Ourhome. National Ourhome Labor Union

They pointed out, "The company explained to the workers that employment would be stably maintained after the share sale, but it was confirmed that the actual contract only included a '3-year employment maintenance' clause," adding, "There are no clear measures to guarantee employment thereafter."

They continued, "The company only presents a general stance that consultation with Hanwha is necessary," and "Practical measures must be prepared to ensure workers' employment stability and treatment."

They also demanded ▲ practical measures to guarantee employment stability ▲ compensation for workers' contributions ▲ the establishment of an official consultative body between the union and the selling parties.

The union also criticized that the Food Federation Ourhome union (with 1,800 members), the bargaining representative union, has not issued an official stance on joint response.

They said, "We requested a joint response from the Ourhome union, but since we have not received an official position, the National Ourhome union (with 1,000 members) has independently taken action," adding, "Although labor solidarity between unions is essential for employment issues, the bargaining representative union has not taken a clear stance, so we had no choice but to respond proactively."

Han Kwang-il, chairman of the National Ourhome labor union, emphasized, "We will continuously request joint responses to protect workers' rights and interests in cooperation with the bargaining representative union," and "We plan to continue requesting official consultations with the selling parties, and if responsible measures are not prepared, we will not hesitate to take additional actions."

Ourhome is a comprehensive food company founded by the late Ku Jahak, former chairman of Ourhome, engaged in group catering and food business. Ku's eldest son and daughter, former vice chairman Ku Bonseong (38.56%) and chairman Ku Mihyun (19.28%), signed a stock purchase agreement (SPA) to sell their shares to Hanwha in February and are currently undergoing the management transfer process.
