The ‘Bandabi Sports Center’ is set to open consecutively in Seorak-myeon and Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, raising expectations among local residents.
According to Gapyeong-gun on the 13th, the Bandabi Sports Center in Seorak-myeon will hold its opening ceremony on the 18th, and the Bandabi Sports Center in Jojong-myeon will open on the 25th, beginning full-scale operations.
The Bandabi Sports Center is an integrated sports facility that can be used by both people with disabilities and those without, featuring various exercise programs and convenience facilities. The Seorak-myeon center will serve as a space to meet residents’ cultural and sports welfare needs, while the Jojong-myeon center is expected to act as a welfare hub in the region by linking with numerous welfare facilities for people with disabilities.
With this opening, sports activities involving both people with and without disabilities are expected to become more active, positively impacting the local economy through the formation of commercial districts around the sports centers. In particular, the Bandabi Sports Center in Jojong-myeon plans to operate more effectively by establishing a cooperative system with welfare facilities to maximize usage by people with disabilities.
County Governor Seo Taewon stated, “The Bandabi Sports Center will be more than just a sports facility; it will be a space where residents can communicate and harmonize,” adding, “During the pilot operation period, we will actively reflect residents’ opinions to create a hopeful space that grows together.”
