"Prosecutor General to Be Remembered in Prosecutorial History"… Im Eun-jeong Posts Deleted Internal Network Article on SNS

"Posted the 'Instruction' on the Internal Network, Then It Was Deleted"

Lim Eun-jung, the chief prosecutor of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office, revealed that she posted a message on the prosecution's internal network, I-PROS, stating "At least an appeal should be filed to salvage the remaining honor of the prosecution," but it was deleted within two hours.

"Prosecutor General to Be Remembered in Prosecutorial History"… Im Eun-jeong Posts Deleted Internal Network Article on SNS Lim Eun-jeong, Chief Prosecutor at Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office. Chief Prosecutor Lim's Facebook.

On the 12th, Chief Prosecutor Lim disclosed the post she wrote on the I-PROS "Prosecutor General's Bulletin Board" through her Facebook.

She wrote, "I consider the instruction to 'calculate the detention period in the usual manner for other detention cases' without filing an immediate appeal or appeal, which are objection procedures due to disagreement with the recent cancellation of detention decision, to be an order from Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung that will be remembered in modern Korean history as well as in the history of the prosecution."

She continued, "(This instruction) was not posted on the I-PROS Prosecutor General's Bulletin Board or notices but was circulated via private messages, so I had no choice but to post it on behalf of others," adding, "If you do not agree with the court's decision and therefore will not apply this calculation method to other cases, then even now, filing an immediate appeal or at least an appeal would allow the Prosecutor General to somewhat restore the remaining honor of the prosecution, regardless of other issues."

However, Chief Prosecutor Lim claimed that the post was deleted within two hours of being published. She also said that the authority to post on the "Prosecutor General's Bulletin Board" has been restricted.

She explained, "The Prosecutor General says he cannot agree with the court's detention cancellation decision and will calculate detention periods for other cases as before, but he refuses to take objection procedures against the detention cancellation decision. Yet, it is surprising that he clings to his position. While pondering this, I confirmed that anyone who is a member of I-PROS can post on the 'Prosecutor General's Bulletin Board' and posted the message."

She added, "I posted this message hoping the Prosecutor General would definitely see it, but just in case the intended person might not have seen it, I am widely sharing it."
