Gyeonggi-do Hosts Fam Tour for Delta Air Lines US Sales Team

Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization conducted a fam tour (promotional inspection) on the 13th for Delta Air Lines' U.S. sales team at major tourist sites in Gimpo City, including Byeokkkoch Nongbu and Aegibong Peace Ecological Park.

This fam tour was planned based on the "Gyeonggi Province-Utah State Action Plan" signed during Utah Governor Spencer James Cox's visit to Gyeonggi Province in September last year, in anticipation of Delta Air Lines' inaugural direct flight route from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), Utah, to Incheon International Airport (ICN), South Korea, scheduled for June 12.

The 16 members of Delta Air Lines' sales team experienced making gochujang (red chili paste) and bibimbap at Byeokkkoch Nongbu (a cafe and rural cultural complex) in Gimpo City, and enjoyed a special tour of the border area's ecological environment and views of North Korea at the DMZ tourist site, Aegibong Peace Ecological Park.

The Delta Air Lines U.S. sales team attending this fam tour stated, "Previously, marketing efforts were focused mainly on Seoul targeting American companies, but this time we felt a lot from Gyeonggi Province and would recommend visiting Gyeonggi Province."

Jang Hyang-jeong, Director of the Tourism Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Starting with the visit of Delta Air Lines' U.S. sales team to Gyeonggi Province, the launch of the direct flight route (Salt Lake City-Incheon) in June is expected to revitalize tourism exchanges and expand foreign tourist attraction between Utah and Gyeonggi Province," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with Utah and Delta Air Lines."

Meanwhile, this fam tour by Delta Air Lines in Gyeonggi Province is the first official follow-up measure since the signing of the "Gyeonggi Province-Utah State Action Plan" during Utah Governor Spencer James Cox's visit to Gyeonggi Province in September last year. It is expected to further strengthen the close relationship between the two regions, which have maintained a sisterhood since September 1983 for 42 years.
