Kwon Seong-dong: "Acting President Choi Should Exercise Veto on Myeong Tae-gyun Special Prosecutor Act and Korea Communications Commission Act"

"The Special Prosecutor Act is a Bill to Completely Destroy the Ruling Party for an Early Presidential Election"
"The Korea Communications Commission Act is Essentially an Impeachment Law Against the Commission"

Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, urged on the 13th that Choi Sang-mok, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, exercise the right to request reconsideration (veto) on the Myeong Tae-gyun Special Prosecutor Act and the amendment to the Korea Communications Commission Act.

At a party meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Floor Leader Kwon said, "I hope Prime Minister Han Deok-soo returns and exercises the right to request reconsideration, but since the Constitutional Court has delayed the impeachment ruling for unknown reasons, we inevitably request Acting Prime Minister Choi to do so."

Floor Leader Kwon pointed out, "The Myeong Tae-gyun Special Prosecutor Act is an unconstitutional and political special prosecutor bill full of toxic provisions," adding, "It aims to exploit the provisions on cognizance investigation and public reporting to the people to trigger an early presidential election and completely destroy the ruling party and the entire conservative camp."

Regarding the Korea Communications Commission Act, he criticized, "In short, it is an impeachment law against the Korea Communications Commission," and said, "Maintaining the two-person system of the Korea Communications Commission while changing the quorum for the commission's decisions to three or more is an attempt to suspend the entire organization’s duties and paralyze its operations, essentially an impeachment attempt against the Korea Communications Commission."

Regarding the Constitutional Court’s dismissal of the impeachment motion against Choi Jae-hae, Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, and three prosecutors that day, he urged, "The Democratic Party should take responsible apologies for paralyzing the Board of Audit and Inspection and the Central District Prosecutors' Office for 98 days," and "immediately abandon the 30th impeachment attempt against Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung."
