The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) and Homeplus signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 13th at Homeplus headquarters in Deungchon-dong, Seoul, to expand the domestic sales of American food products.
This agreement marks the first official partnership of AMCHAM's 'Buy America' campaign, with attendance from James Kim, Chairman of AMCHAM, Jo Ju-yeon, CEO of Homeplus, and officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Korea.
According to the agreement, Homeplus will select the United States as the first country for the upcoming overseas food exhibition starting in early April, offering special discounts on high-quality American products such as livestock, fruits, and wine.

AMCHAM will provide policy support to simplify the import procedures for American food products, optimize supply chains through cooperation with U.S. exporters, and strengthen collaboration with government agencies to enhance trade efficiency.
James Kim, Chairman of AMCHAM, stated, "This cooperation will be an important opportunity to increase Korean consumers' access to American food products and strengthen economic cooperation between Korea and the United States." Jo Ju-yeon, CEO of Homeplus, said, "As the first partner of AMCHAM's 'Buy America' campaign, Homeplus will do its best to offer customers excellent American products at reasonable prices."
AMCHAM plans to actively promote the 'Buy America' campaign this year and continue supporting trade revitalization and expanded market access through cooperation between Korean and American companies.
