"Intensive Treatment Required Due to Health Issues"
Kakao Group's CA Council announced on the 13th that it will transition to a single-chair system led solely by Jeong Sina, CEO of Kakao.
Kakao founder Kim Beom-su will step down from his role as co-chair of the CA Council. However, he will continue to serve as the head of the Future Initiative Center, which is responsible for establishing the group's vision and future strategies. This change aims to enable faster decision-making and execution amid rapidly changing domestic and international business environments. Consideration was also given to Kim's health issues, which require intensive treatment for the time being.
Additionally, the Management Innovation Committee, which has been operating temporarily since November 2023, will conclude its activities. The committee has laid the foundational framework for the group's reform, including the establishment of the Compliance and Trust Committee, personnel renewal, and governance restructuring. With the direction and systems for reform now concretized, future tasks will be continuously pursued by strategic committees involving CEOs of major affiliates, such as the Strategy Committee, Responsible Management Committee, ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) Committee, and Brand Communication Committee.
