On the 12th, the county held a special lecture in the main conference room of the county office for about 80 staff members to strengthen their planning and execution capabilities for public contest projects.
This special lecture was organized to explore ways to secure financial resources through public contest projects in response to the reduction of local subsidies due to the worsening government fiscal situation.
The lecture was delivered by Lee Hosun, CEO of the Korea Policy Capacity Development Institute and an expert in the field of public contest projects. He covered trends in major government-funded projects by ministries for 2025, as well as how to plan public contest projects, write proposals, and strategic approaches to increase the chances of selection.
In particular, the session analyzed various cases focusing on core keywords of public contest projects such as youth, idle and unused facilities, and smart technology, and explored how to apply these to Cheongsong County, garnering significant interest from the staff.
County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "Public contest projects are an essential policy tool for promoting initiatives within limited local finances," and added, "We will expand capacity-building education and incentive support so that our staff can actively take on new challenges."
The county will hold a field workshop titled 'Selection of Contest Tasks and Preparation of Standard Project Plans' over two days from March 27 to 28.
During this workshop, practitioners will directly select contest tasks and develop project plans through hands-on training, and the program will be operated as a practical course that connects the improved reports to actual public contest project applications.
Cheongsong County plans to continue focusing on discovering practical projects to address the crisis of local extinction and promote regional development, and will actively attract public contest projects to establish a foundation for sustainable local growth.
