This was the first committee meeting since the inauguration of President Shin Changho. To enhance the committee's expertise, Kim Kyungae, Head of the Women's Policy Team at the Busan Metropolitan City Women and Family Department, and Jung Dawoon, Director of the Gender Equality and Family Research Division at the Busan Women and Family and Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, were newly appointed as members.
The committee also plans to implement more robust gender equality policies by selecting twice as many tasks compared to the previous year.
This year's key tasks include: ▲ improving women's representation (gender ratio in committees, ratio of female managers), ▲ managing human resources (gender ratio among employees and promotees), ▲ promoting work-life balance (parental leave, flexible work arrangements, etc.), and ▲ advancing activities to prevent sexual harassment and sexual violence (education and campaigns).
During this committee meeting, a discussion was held on the challenges in the workplace arising from the expansion of childbirth and childcare systems. The committee members emphasized the need to spread a culture of understanding and consideration among employees to ensure the successful establishment of these systems.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "Together with the new committee members, we will work to firmly establish the value of gender equality throughout the entire organization."
