Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 13th that starting this year, it will select more than 10 old public rental complexes to renovate the exterior of the complexes and create communal facilities for residents.
Since 2021, LH has been conducting a public rental complex exterior improvement project under the name "Change-Up." It has renovated 13 complexes nationwide, including in Seoul and Suwon.
Since last year, the project has been expanded to Change-Up 2.0, which strengthens regional coexistence functions. This applies designs tailored to the characteristics of each complex, such as elderly-friendly specialized designs, nature interaction types that create gardens or forests in idle spaces within the complex, and cultural and artistic types that expand opportunities for cultural enjoyment.
Starting with Uijeongbu, more than 10 complexes will be selected and promoted this year. LH President Lee Han-jun and Uijeongbu Mayor Kim Dong-geun signed a business agreement at the city hall yesterday to improve Uijeongbu Jangam 1 Complex using a regional linkage approach.

According to the agreement, a garden village will be created centered around this complex. While LH improves the complex facilities, it will ensure that the parks inside and outside the complex are harmoniously connected, and Uijeongbu City will improve the parks adjacent to the complex.
LH President Lee Han-jun said, "The core of this project is not simply to improve the facilities of old public rental complexes, but to rebirth them as new region-customized community spaces tailored to the age group of residents and regional preferences," adding, "We will continue to expand the project to increase residents' housing satisfaction and add vitality to the local community."
