Sleep management training was conducted with about 30 flight and cabin crew members in attendance. This training was prepared because, according to a survey conducted among flight crew members, 'sleep management training' accounted for the highest proportion (49%) of health promotion activities desired by the crew.
An aviation specialist doctor designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was invited to provide theoretical lectures on sleep management strategies and health management methods during shift work, offering ways for crew members to effectively get sleep in an irregular schedule work environment.
Eastar Jet plans to continue providing sleep education to manage the fatigue of flight and cabin crew members. Starting next month, a consultation program for ‘aviation medical examinations’ to maintain pilot qualifications will also begin.
