The National Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK) announced on the 13th that it held an opening ceremony for the 'Incheon Regional Headquarters' in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Kim Yoonsik, NACUFOK executives and staff, chairpersons of credit unions in the Incheon area, standing directors, operational managers, and members of the steering committee to celebrate the launch of the Incheon Regional Headquarters.
The Incheon Regional Headquarters will oversee 78 branches within Incheon, aiming to enhance access to financial services and provide more systematic support for credit union operations. This new establishment is a decision to separate Incheon from the existing 'Incheon-Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters' into an independent operational system to implement financial strategies optimized for regional characteristics.
Until now, the Incheon-Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters managed 138 credit unions and 313 branches across the entire Seoul metropolitan area, leading to ongoing discussions about the need for more effective operations and a regionally tailored support system. Accordingly, NACUFOK has laid the foundation to provide more detailed management support and field-oriented financial services through the establishment of the Incheon Regional Headquarters.
With the establishment of the Incheon Regional Headquarters, NACUFOK plans to further strengthen cooperation with local credit unions and provide a stable financial environment to members in the Incheon area through customized guidance and supervision. Additionally, it intends to operate small business support programs and expand policies for low-income finance more effectively to revitalize the local economy.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Kim Yoonsik emphasized, "The establishment of the Incheon Regional Headquarters will be an important opportunity to enhance the autonomy and operational efficiency of each credit union and contribute to regional economic growth," adding, "We will actively support Incheon credit unions so that they can provide faster and more stable financial services to their members."
Meanwhile, NACUFOK expanded its organizational structure from 10 regional headquarters to 12 this year. Through this, it plans to implement financial strategies tailored to regional characteristics and maximize the efficiency of credit union operations. Moving forward, NACUFOK will continue to provide ongoing support and improvements as a member-centered financial cooperative.
