Hana Financial Group is launching a meal support project to alleviate the caregiving burden of family caregiving children and adolescents (Young Carers) and promote their healthy growth.

As the first step of this project, on the 12th, Hana Financial Group visited the homes of family caregiving children in the metropolitan area and delivered lunchboxes consisting of healthy meals along with happiness boxes containing school supplies and daily necessities needed for the new semester.

At this event, Chairman Ham Young-joo personally delivered a carefully prepared lunchbox and happiness box to a 9-year-old elementary school student who has taken on the role of the head of the household from an early age due to caring for parents with mobility difficulties caused by illness, offering words of encouragement and support.

Chairman Ham Young-joo stated, "Hana Financial Group wants to become another reliable family for family caregiving children and adolescents who bear the burden of supporting their families at an age when they should be receiving care, so they can reduce their caregiving burden and grow up healthily. We will continue to provide ongoing interest and support so that family caregiving children and adolescents can socialize with their peers and dream about the future through this project."

Hana Financial Group plans to support a total of 1,111 households by providing a sufficient amount of healthy meal lunchbox side dishes once a week for family members to eat together, aiming to reduce the caregiving burden and promote healthy growth of family caregiving children and adolescents. Additionally, during Family Month in May, special meal gifts consisting of fruits, nutritional supplements, and cakes will be provided.

Furthermore, mentoring coordinators from local partner organizations will be matched with family caregiving children and adolescent households to conduct case management via phone and face-to-face meetings every two months. This is expected to help alleviate the psychological burden and feelings of isolation experienced by family caregiving children and adolescents in their daily lives.

This project plans to prioritize support for family caregiving children and adolescents from low-income families by comprehensively considering each household’s income level, degree of illness and disability, and family circumstances through recommendations from local governments and community partner organizations nationwide.

In addition, Hana Financial Group has successfully completed the "100th Daycare Center Construction Project" over six years until last year to support children’s healthy growth and caregiving, and is currently running the "365 Days Never-Closing Hana Care Daycare Center" project, which provides caregiving childcare outside of regular childcare hours.

Moreover, the group is continuously and sincerely conducting ESG activities to create an environment where future generations of children can grow up happily without discrimination, including ▲ nurturing and supporting education for local young entrepreneurs ▲ providing scholarships for youth preparing for independence ▲ hosting the "Positive Parenting Conference" to prevent child abuse ▲ and promoting rehabilitation and learning aid equipment support projects for children and adolescents with disabilities.
