Since 2022, Korea Expressway Corporation has been promoting smart construction training as part of the National Human Resources Development Consortium Project, producing 1,649 graduates by last year.

This year, the corporation plans to recruit an additional 783 trainees through 24 courses.

The training program is practically oriented, covering topics such as ▲BIM (Building Information Modeling) ▲Drone-based structure inspection and damage analysis ▲AI-based design documentation ▲Big data analysis in the construction industry ▲Safety management using smart technologies.

In particular, the 'on-site corporate training' program introduced last year will be expanded, enabling field professionals to receive customized training without the need to travel.

The training is available to companies that pay employment insurance premiums. For priority support companies (those with 300 or fewer regular employees in the construction sector), the training is completely free. Other companies only need to pay 20% of the training cost (ranging from 9,720 KRW to 76,302 KRW per person).

A representative from Korea Expressway Corporation stated, "As the digital transformation of the construction industry accelerates, it is essential to foster professionals in smart construction technologies who can immediately apply their skills in the field," and added, "We will strengthen on-site customized training to help companies effectively adopt smart technologies."

Meanwhile, since 2020, the corporation has been leading a 'National R&D Project for Smart Construction Technology Development' with a total budget of 195 billion KRW, actively supporting the commercialization of smart construction technologies and the growth of related companies in cooperation with 135 industry, academic, and research institutions.

Applications for the training program can be made through the Korea Expressway Corporation Smart Construction Training Center website.
