Busan Employment and Labor Office and Busan Branch of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Hold Protective Equipment Management Agreement Ceremony and On-site Inspection Day for Ship Repair Industry

Busan Employment and Labor Office (Director Kim Junhui) and the Busan Regional Headquarters of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director Jeong Jongdeuk) held a protective equipment donation and management agreement ceremony at Orient Shipbuilding on March 11. The event aimed to foster an environment where workers at local repair shipyards, where safety and health management are lacking, can perform their tasks while wearing basic safety helmets and harnesses.

The ceremony was attended by Kim Junhui, Director of the Busan Employment and Labor Office, Jeong Jongdeuk, Director of the Busan Regional Headquarters of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the CEO of Orient Shipbuilding, as well as many shipyard owners and safety officials from Saha-gu. Through this agreement, the organizers aimed to establish a culture where workers properly wear the provided safety helmets and harnesses on-site, thereby renewing the safety culture in repair shipyards.

Following the ceremony, in celebration of the 5th On-site Inspection Day, a joint visit campaign and on-site inspection were conducted at repair shipyards in Saha-gu. Under the catchphrase, "Wearing safety helmets and harnesses: The first step to protecting your own and your colleagues' lives!", safety officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the agency, and the workplaces participated to emphasize the importance of wearing protective equipment.
