Damyang County Holds Certificate Presentation Ceremony for 'Jeonnam Province Model Taxpayers'

Damyang County in Jeollanam-do held a certificate awarding ceremony on the 11th for one corporation and two individuals selected as the '2025 Jeollanam-do Exemplary Taxpayers.'

The selection criteria for exemplary taxpayers include having no local tax arrears in the past three years, making at least three tax payments per year, and paying the full amount within the deadline?at least 20 million KRW for corporations and 2 million KRW for individuals. In Damyang, Isan Steel Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Yangrok) located in Damyang-eup, as well as Lim Sutaek and Park Jonghyun, were finally selected.

They were recognized not only for fostering a sound local tax payment culture but also for their contributions to the community, such as providing scholarships, making Hometown Love Donations, and supporting the socially disadvantaged, thereby promoting the local economy and fulfilling their social responsibilities.

The selected exemplary taxpayers will receive preferential interest rates and exemption from electronic banking transaction fees for one year from financial institutions (Nonghyup Bank, Gwangju Bank). Corporations will be exempt from local tax audits for three years from the date of selection and will also receive free parking at Jeollanam-do public parking lots.

Jeong Gwangseon, acting county governor, said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to those who have contributed to the development of tax administration and the creation of a mature tax culture in the county through exemplary tax payments despite difficult economic conditions," and added, "I believe you will continue to cooperate in strengthening local finances through faithful tax payments in the future."
