Samsung Electronics' highest annual salary last year was awarded to Kyung Kye-hyun, an advisor who stepped down as head of the semiconductor division.


According to the Samsung Electronics business report disclosed on the 11th, Advisor Kyung received a total of 8.036 billion KRW, including a retirement allowance of 5.272 billion KRW, a salary of 1.188 billion KRW, and a bonus of 1.453 billion KRW last year.


The second highest was Lee Jung-bae, a counselor (former head of the Memory Business Division), who received 6.95 billion KRW, and the third was Choi Si-young, a counselor (former head of the Foundry Business Division), who also received 6.95 billion KRW. These amounts included retirement allowances of 4.114 billion KRW and 4.154 billion KRW, respectively.


Excluding retirees, the highest annual salary was that of Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee. Vice Chairman Han received a total of 5.24 billion KRW, including a salary of 1.617 billion KRW and a bonus of 3.492 billion KRW.


No Tae-moon, President and head of the MX Business Division, followed with a total of 5.098 billion KRW, including a salary of 1.463 billion KRW and a bonus of 3.525 billion KRW.


The total compensation paid to five inside directors last year amounted to 28.67 billion KRW, averaging 5.734 billion KRW per person. This represents a 30.26% increase compared to the previous year's total compensation of 22.09 billion KRW (an average of 4.42 billion KRW per person).


The average employee salary was 130 million KRW, an 8.3% increase from the previous year (120 million KRW), while the average executive annual salary was 671 million KRW, a 7.58% decrease from the previous year (726 million KRW).


Meanwhile, Chairman Lee Jae-yong has not received a salary from Samsung Electronics since 2017.
