In a press release that morning, the Vatican stated, "The Pope spent a peaceful night and woke up around 8 a.m." The Vatican had announced the previous day that the Pope's condition was no longer serious enough to threaten his life.

The Pope was admitted to Rome's Gemelli Hospital on the 14th of last month due to bronchitis. This marks the 26th day of his hospitalization.

Chest computed tomography (CT) scans confirmed pneumonia in both lungs. The Pope experienced respiratory distress four times, facing several critical situations.

However, since experiencing two episodes of acute respiratory failure on the afternoon of the 3rd, his condition has steadily improved, and medical staff declared the day before that the Pope had moved out of the dangerous stage.

Nevertheless, the Pope is expected to remain in the hospital for additional treatment for the time being. The discharge date is undecided. Accordingly, the Pope is expected to mark the 12th anniversary of his enthronement on the 13th while still in the hospital bed.
