The police investigating the theft of 240 million won in cash have been struggling with the investigation for over two weeks without identifying the suspect.

According to Yonhap News Agency on the 11th, citing the police, the Incheon Western Police Station is tracking a suspect referred to as Mr. A, who is presumed to be a foreign male, on charges of theft. Mr. A is accused of stealing 240 million won in cash from a group led by a man in his 30s, Mr. B, at a commercial building on the first floor in Seoknam-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, around 9:40 p.m. on the 21st of last month.

Based on the investigation results so far, it is understood that Mr. A posted a message in a KakaoTalk open chat room offering to sell the cryptocurrency Tether (USDT) at a low price, then met with Mr. B and others to commit the crime. The cash owner, Mr. B, claimed, "Mr. A briefly left the seat saying he was going to the restroom, then secretly returned and fled carrying a paper bag containing the cash."

The police confirmed that Mr. A fled Incheon by car immediately after the theft. However, they are reportedly having difficulty tracking his additional movements.

Information related to Mr. A has not been identified. He is only presumed to be a foreign male, with no specific details known about his nationality, name, age, or residence. Regarding the vehicle used for the escape, the license plate necessary for vehicle registration inquiry was not clearly identified, and inquiries have yielded no significant results.

The police are also considering the possibility that Mr. A fled overseas. They plan to continue tracking him based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and other evidence. A police official told Yonhap News Agency, "It is difficult to confirm the suspect's real name," adding, "We are not yet considering issuing a public warrant."
