Wife, Son, and Daughter Also Found Dead
Police: "Requested Autopsy... Plan to Investigate Circumstances of the Incident"
In an apartment in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, a family of four was found dead, and it was investigated that the father in his 40s had become despondent after lending several hundred million won to an acquaintance and not being repaid.
According to the Suwon Jungbu Police Station, the man in his 40s, Mr. A, who was found dead in an apartment complex in Jangan-gu, Suwon, on the morning of the 9th, sent a text message related to his personal situation to an acquaintance the day before the incident. The message contained complaints about not being able to recover the several hundred million won he had lent to the acquaintance.
Later, Mr. A was found dead around 4:30 a.m. on the 9th within the apartment complex where he lived. CCTV footage confirmed that Mr. A went up to the top floor of the apartment and jumped. Around 11 a.m. the next day, his wife, Mrs. B in her 40s, and their teenage son and daughter were also found dead in the master bedroom of Mr. A’s home. Based on the mobile phone message history, the police suspect that Mr. A killed his family before jumping.
Mr. A was self-employed, and Mrs. B was a homemaker; it is known that they did not receive any basic living subsidies. The police requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause and time of death of Mrs. B and the others. A police official stated, "It appears that Mr. A became despondent due to debt issues," and added, "We plan to understand the circumstances of the incident through the autopsy."
