Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province plans to fully open the Ipomnamu Railway in the Palbok Art Factory area.
According to the city on the 11th, the section to be opened this time is about 630 meters of the Ipomnamu Railway, and it will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day on weekends and public holidays between April 26-27 and May 3-6.
The Ipomnamu Railway was previously open for three weeks on weekends and public holidays from late April to mid-May last year, featuring a variety of cultural events and a food market with participation from local residents.

In addition, during the same period, more than 100,000 tourists visited in connection with the Andy Warhol exhibition held at the Palbok Art Factory.
This year, for the second opening, the city plans to provide even richer attractions by improving various aspects based on visitor feedback and suggestions. In particular, this year, the open section will be divided into day and night so that visitors can enjoy different charms during both times.
Specifically, during the daytime (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), the entire 630-meter section from Girindaero to Sinbok-ro will be open. At night (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.), landscape lighting will be concentrated on the 400-meter section from Geumhakgyo, where the railroad crossing is located, to Sinbok-ro, highlighting the unique atmosphere of the Ipomnamu Railway both day and night.
KORAIL Jeonbuk Headquarters, which has signed an agreement with Jeonju City and supported this railway opening, is also preparing a surprise event for the occasion.
Additionally, on April 26 and 27, the city will operate booths promoting and selling excellent products from local small and medium-sized enterprises, introducing a variety of Jeonju's products and markets to citizens and tourists.
During the golden holiday from May 3 to 6, the 'Jeonju Ipomnamu Market' will be held as part of the 'Jeonju Together Market' project, with participation from Jeonju citizens and merchants, aiming to revitalize the local economy.
In connection with the Palbok-dong railway opening event, the city will also showcase a variety of Jeonju products through 'Jeonju Goods' and actively promote local businesses using 'Jeonju Yeogiro,' further raising awareness of Jeonju's products and markets.
Various contents such as performances by young people and a food booth called 'Cheolgil Sikdang' will also be prepared, adding to the vibrancy of the Ipomnamu Railway opening event.
Based on last year's operation, the city has increased visitor convenience by adding restrooms and shelters along the section, and plans to create a more comfortable and safe environment by installing palm mats and lighting in the open area.
Im Sookhee, Director of the Economic and Industrial Bureau of Jeonju City, said, "We are pleased to reopen the Ipomnamu Railway, which received much love from citizens during its first opening last year. We will do our best to ensure that visitors can safely enjoy richer attractions and diverse cultural experiences."
Meanwhile, during this year's Palbok-dong Ipomnamu Railway opening event, the Palbok Art Factory will host the 'Henri Matisse & Raoul Dufy' exhibition, providing visitors not only with things to see and enjoy but also with opportunities to experience high-quality culture.
