The Daejeon city government announced that it will hold a residents' briefing session to address citizens' questions and ensure safe construction ahead of the full-scale tram construction.
During the briefing, local residents will be informed about the following: ▲Characteristics of the hydrogen tram ▲Overview of the construction ▲Step-by-step construction plans ▲Main processes for each construction section.
The residents' briefing sessions will begin with sections 1, 2, and 7, which are the initial construction areas, and will be sequentially conducted for all 15 sections. Within one month after the start of construction, the sessions will be held at accessible public institutions such as nearby administrative welfare centers and district offices, taking into account the demand by section and region.
The sessions for sections 1 and 2 will be held at 3:00 PM on the 11th at the Daedeok Cultural Center, and for section 7 at 2:00 PM on the 14th at the Wonsinheung-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
The city plans to continuously promote the residents' briefing sessions through administrative welfare centers, social media, and its website, and will share construction plans and gather citizens' feedback.
The Daejeon Urban Railway Line 2 tram construction project is a circular line connecting five districts, with a total length of 38.8 km, 45 stations, and one depot. To ensure rapid completion, the project is divided into 15 sections.
Previously, on the 10th, Daejeon city held a briefing to announce traffic management plans during tram construction, measures to improve the traffic environment, and strategies to minimize inconvenience for citizens.
The city will establish step-by-step construction plans and sequentially proceed with sidewalk reduction and lane expansion (set-back), tram inner and outer track construction, station and intersection construction, and finally, the tram opening.
Choi Jongsoo, Director of Urban Railway Construction for Daejeon City, stated, "Since the tram construction is closely related to citizens' daily lives, preemptive communication is more important than anything else. Through this residents' briefing session, we will actively reflect citizens' opinions and proceed with safe and swift construction, aiming for the opening in December 2028."
