Enhancing Public Officials’ Competence
Seeking Strategies for Pledge Implementation
Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seunghee) held the "2025 Manifesto Implementation Capacity Enhancement Training" on the 10th at the Dalbit Cheongchun Maru Youth Culture Center in Yeongam-eup, with about 60 public officials in attendance.
According to the county on the 11th, the training was organized to strengthen the capabilities of the public officials in charge and to seek ways to implement the pledges of the 8th popularly elected Yeongam County government.

The lecturer for the training was Lee Gwangjae, Secretary General of the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters, who delivered a lecture on the theme "Rewriting Local Autonomy, Resilience." Secretary General Lee emphasized the importance of pledge implementation, the direction of public policy in an era of extreme uncertainty, and the role of public officials in building residents' trust. He also shared systematic methods for implementation, management, and ways to improve the pledge fulfillment rate.
In particular, he stressed the importance of monitoring pledge implementation through the resident jury system. He explained that when residents are able to evaluate the pledge implementation process and propose improvements through this system, the transparency and reliability of pledge implementation will be enhanced. Furthermore, he highly praised Yeongam County's systematic management of the pledge evaluation and feedback process by organizing and operating a resident jury every year.
Governor Woo Seunghee stated, "The responsibility of public officials is more important than anything else for the successful implementation of the 120 pledge projects in 10 fields of the 8th popularly elected administration," and added, "We will strengthen resident participation and conduct frequent pledge implementation checks to fulfill our valuable promises to the county residents."
