Kakao Pay Provides Financial Education for Middle School Students... "Financial Supervisory Service Collaborates on 'Free Semester System'"

Kakao Pay started the first class the day before. By the end of this year, it will support financial education under the middle school free semester system at 20 schools nationwide. The middle school free semester financial education is a financial education program conducted by the Financial Supervisory Service in cooperation with financial companies to help middle school students systematically acquire essential financial knowledge. It offers 8 lecture sessions.

This education program is operated through the Sagak Sagak Pay School Junior Class fund, established through a business agreement between Kakao Pay and the Youth Financial Education Council in January.

The Sagak Sagak Pay School Junior Class plans to provide various educational programs, including cyber gambling prevention education, age-appropriate basic financial knowledge, and proper financial attitude education. Following support for middle school free semester financial education, it will promote partnerships with middle and high schools nationwide through initiatives such as 'One Company One School Financial Education' and fintech career experience camps. Programs will be tailored to the needs of each school.

Kakao Pay stated, "We will provide systematic financial education to youth participating in the free semester system," adding, "We will continue activities to resolve digital financial blind spots by offering financial education for youth by age and region, including high schools and schools in remote island and mountainous areas."

Kakao Pay has been running the Sagak Sagak Pay School campaign since 2023. As the first project in 2023, Sagak Sagak Pay School launched the Senior Class through a tripartite agreement with Kakao Impact and the Senior Financial Education Council. Since then, the support scope has expanded from seniors to youth. In line with the group’s shared growth slogan 'Closer, Kakao,' it has been conducting mutual growth activities for digitally financially marginalized groups.
